议论文的写作方法

议论文是研究生入学考试和大学英语四、六级测试中最常见的一种文体。
议论文和说明文有相似之处,都是解释某个事实,某个思想。但论说文又深入了一步,它是作者通过事实材料和逻辑推理来阐明自己的观点,表明赞成什么或反对什么,并力图使读者相信他是正确的。
、议论文的结构方式议论文是由三个要素构成的,即:论点,论据和论证,也就是个提出问题—分析问题——解决问题的过程。这大体上也可视为总称下列三个问题的过程:是什么?为什么?怎么样?下面就是这一过程的表达式。
开头—提出问题,说明论点(是什么?)中间——分析问题,论证观点(为什么?结尾—解决问题,做结论(怎么样?)请看下列实例:Why I like to Read NewspapersPeople say, He who does not step out of the house knows allthat has happened in the world. 研究生入学考试英语大纲在评价目标中,规定考生“根据所给题目或素材写出叙述、说明或议论性的短文”,同时大纲又在考试形式中规定“考生应根据题目及写作提纲或规定情景、图表等写出不少于150词的短文”,因此,研究生入学考试英语写作多为议论文、说明文、记叙文、描写文、看图表作文,1991年
1996年考研作文均属议论文形式,1997、1998、1999三年均为看图表作文,故考生应重点掌握以上几种文体的写作方法。但四、六级英语考试中有时还出现看图作文、写英文书信、摘要作文、按给出的关键词作文,在此也一并加以简略介绍,参加考研的考生可不必掌握,了解一下即可下面将分别介绍各种文体的写作方法。

写议论文时要:(1)先确立论点,做到观点鲜明,开门见山;
(2)说理要清楚,以充足的理由和事实证明自己的观点正确。
(3)要合理安排层次,使文章结构紧凑,逻辑严密,富有说服力。要做到上述三点,就需要一种适宜的方法把它们运用于文中,使读者能够了解和接受。议论文常见的论证方法有三种:归纳法;演绎法;比较与对比法。
1归纳法归纳法是从个别的事件中归纳出结论,即从具体的事例中得出结论。请看下列实例:There are many kinds of music, as does art or literatureSince people have different ideas of what is beautiful, so we haveour choices from the magnificent compositions of music masterslike Beethoven, Bach, Chopin, Wagner, to the popular songs andtunes of the common music-hallOnly people of educated musical taste can appreciate the former, and they find no pleasure in the latter, while the commonpeople are bored with what is called classical music, and find pleasure only in what musicians would call vulgar tunes

2.演绎法
包括大前提、小前提和结论的议论方法叫做演绎法。演绎法是从一般的大前提中引出一个具体、特定的结论。请看下列实例:Good music often has a wonderful effect upon the feelings ofeven ignorant people. One poet has said, \"Music has charms tosoothes the savage beastSoft and sweet music soothes the wearied, the sad, the restless; grand music will fill strong men with great ambitions. 上文首先提出大前提:美妙的音乐对人们的感情常有难言的影响。据此,作者演绎出若干小前提:音乐对各种不同的人所产生的不同的影响。最后的结论与大前提呼应强调了音乐对情感所起的作用。
3.类比法
通过将两种不相同的事物间的相似点进行比较,从而产生鲜明的效果。一则使观点突出;二则可使论证有力量。请看下列实例:Parents have to do much less for their children today thanhey used to do and home has become much less of a workshopClothes can be bought ready made washing can go to the laun

第二节说明文的写作方法
说明文就是用言简意赅的文字介绍事物的类别、性质、特点、构造、成因、功用,以及解释事物运动、变化、产生、消亡过程原理、规律的文章。说明文与记叙文,描写文的主要区别在于:记叙文写的是在特定情况下事物的发生与发展。描写文写的是一件事物的外在形态。说明文不是刺激读者的感情或想象,使他们产生喜怒哀乐,而是启发读者,给他们提供知识。因此,说明文写作的一个最重要的前提就是清晰。语言要浅显,确切,简洁生动,层次分明,使读者一目了然。
要把说明文写得条理分明,必须掌握说明顺序。常用的说明文顺序是:
1时间顺序。是指从先到后的顺序。
2.空间顺序。是指从整体到局部,从上到下,从外到内,从前到后等顺序。
3.逻辑顺序。是指先因后果或先果后因,先主后次的顺序。
4.认识顺序。是指由此及彼,由浅入深,由局部到整体,由现象到本质,由具体到抽象的顺序写作说明文常用的方法有:定义法、分类法、举例法、比较和
对照法、比喻法、数字法、图表法等(详见第四章写作技巧)。请
